Winter weather has arrived. With temperatures expected to stay well below freezing this week, here are some guidelines and tips for keeping kids safe and warm.
Tips for dressing in cold-weather
Dress your child in layers of clothing that can be taken off and on off easily.
Mittens, instead of gloves, will allow fingers to retain warmth.
A warm hat will help maintain body temperature.
Prevent frostbite by keeping ears covered at all times.
Waterproof boots should be roomy enough for a child to wiggle their toes while wearing an extra pair of socks.
Wet clothing and boots should be removed immediately after playing outdoors.
