It is with great honor and pleasure that I begin this school year as the new superintendent for Athena-Weston Schools. It is my professional commitment to partner with community members, staff, parents, and students to develop a safe and welcoming school environment. I maintain an open door policy and am excited to become a partner in the Athena-Weston school community.
School begins on August 25 and we will be welcoming an estimated 567 students through the doors of our three buildings; Athena Elementary (grades K-3), Weston Middle School (grades 4-8) and Weston McEwen High School (grades 9-12).
As we begin this academic year, I invite parents, staff and students to ponder the following question:
What do I hope for this school year? (for myself, my students, my children)
Here are some of my hopes...
I hope that every student and staff member is excited to come to school each day.
I hope that every student discovers that they belong and are cared for.
I hope that every family understands how valued they are as our partners.
I hope that I end each day having made a difference in the life of a child.
We thank you for sharing your children with us and welcome you as we celebrate and work together for a successful school year!
Yours for Kids,
Laure Quaresma, Superintendent
