Dear Athena-Weston students and families,
Thank you for your patience and flexibility during these unprecedented school closures. Our staff members have been working tirelessly to continue to provide vital resources to students and their families. We are so appreciative of your understanding and support. We have an amazing community and dedicated staff.
Please take a few minutes to review the information below. If you have additional questions that are not addressed here, please call the district office at 541-566-3551.
We have weekly lunch and breakfast boxes for families with students 1 - 18 years, and/or persons 19 to 21 years old with a physical or mental disability. These boxes will be distributed every Wednesday between 12:00 and 6:00 p.m. at Athena Elementary School. If you are receiving a food box, you do not need to contact Mrs. Webb every week.
If you are new to the food boxes, you will need to reserve your meal box by emailing karen.webbathwestsd.org by 3 pm Monday each week. If you are in need of meals, and are unable to get to one of the middle schools, please call 541-566-3551.
Our schools are closed, but learning can continue from home in a variety of fashions. We are gathering suggested learning resources to support the learning of all students. Please visit our Learning Resources for Families page on our website. These learning resources should enhance, deepen or extend previously taught content and concepts. In addition, you should expect to hear from your child’s teacher on a weekly basis.
We know that our high school students and families have very specific questions about earning credits, and meeting graduation requirements. We will continue to update as we receive updates from the Department of Oregon. State Superintendent Colt Gill has also made this one of his top priorities. As we learn more, we will communicate with families.

During the school closure, families are encouraged to support their children in accessing learning engagement resources. Families who have personal devices for their child to use at home are welcome to use them to access learning resources.
Families in need of a Chromebook to access learning engagement resources will have the opportunity to check one out from the middle or high school.
At this time we continue to have chrome books available for student use. Please do not check out a device unless you truly need it. You will need your child's name, birthday and student ID number. Children do not need to accompany parents/guardians to check out a device.
