1949 Weston Football Team
from the best cheerleading squad in Eastern Oregon to the Class President, from the Pep Club President to the faculty themselves; all came together in the fall of 1949 to create one of the greatest football teams in Eastern Oregon history
the Weston Tigers football team lost only one game: the state semi-final game to Talent in Central Point, Oregon
Central Point is now a suburb of Medford and there were no freeways back then
on today's road the trip takes 8 hours
the team scored an average of 37 points while giving up only 14 points per game
for the season the team had only one close game; an 18-12 win over Pilot Rock
the season also included a 50-20 drubbing of their arch rivals (whom we won't identify publicly)
officially the Tigers ended the season tied for 3rd place in the state
