graduated from the University of Oregon in 1959 with a degree in education
his educational career spanned over 37 years
he taught Math and Art for 6 years in Eugene Oregon and 1 year in Pendleton
he taught media classes for Eastern Oregon State University and Stained Glass classes for Blue Mountain Community College
he directed the Media Center at the Umatilla E.S.D retiring after 30 years with E.S.D
served on the Athena-Weston School Board for 13 years
he worked the Pioneer picnic for 35 years
past Chieftan of the Caledonian Days
served on the Umatilla County Historical Society Board of Directors for 30 years, where he was President 3 times
he served as the Chairman on Memorial Hall Board for 8 years
he served on AWERE Committee to disburse funds for the Athena and Weston area, donated by Florida Power (a wind generator company)
he designed and constructed stained glass windows for several churches in the area as well as several windows in private homes and businesses
he married Kathleen Bannister in 1958 and has 3 daugthers
