Lyle 'Doug' Hinkins
Graduated form McEwen High School in 1971
Athletic Accomplishments:
played baseball for 1 year
ran track for 3 years
played basketball and football for 4 years
He broke the Oregon state high school javelin throwing record at the state track meet which was in turn broken the next day by another thrower
attended Oregon State University where he lettered 3 years in track and was ranked as the 8th best thrower in the nation his junior year
His junior year he placed second at the Pac-8 Championships
He had hopes of making the 1976 Olympic team, however an injury early in the season did no allow him the throwing distance he needed
Lives in Oakesdale WA where he is employed with Land 'O Lakes
Is chairman of the Northwest Region of the Certified Crop Advisor program and will be President of the Far West Agribusiness Association
Married to Diane Hinkins and has two children
