Lori Monaco Mills
graduated from Weston-McEwen High School in 1997
Athletic Accomplishments:
She is one of the greatest female distance runners in the history of Eastern Oregon
She has won 4 district championships in Cross Country, placed in the top 4 at every state meet she entered placing 2nd twice
Cross Country was not her only sport, she was a two year started in Basketball and one of the team captains
Track was where her star shone brightest
she won 8 individual district championships, 4 each in the 1500 and 3000
her district records in both events still stand
at the state meet she won 4 individual titles including back to back championships her senior year in the 1500 and 3000
in 1997 she led the TigerScots to a second place finish at the state meet
She was involved in almost every club offered at Weston-McEwen: Spanish Club, Choir, Letterman's Club, FFA, Drama Club and was Senior Class President
After graduation she accepted a track and cross country scholarship to Boise State University
she became a 4 year letterman at Boise State and earned All Conference honors in the 10,000 meters her sophomore, junior and senior years
Following her graduation from Boise State she has taught in Meridian Idaho and Irrigon Oregon before finally coming home to teach in the Athena Weston School District
She is currently Principal at Sandstone Middle School in Hermiston Oregon
